Secure
Borders
We
need to secure our borders so that we know exactly who enters this
country.
The safety of our citizens is at stake. Many of the people crossing our
borders are honest, hard working people looking for a better life, but
many are criminals looking to prey on our generosity. The criminal
element
of those who cross our borders illegally, live outside the law and do
not benefit Arizona. They become a tremendous strain on our economy due
to emergency care in our hospitals and criminal processing through law
enforcement and the courts.
Temporary Worker Program
There
is a great need for immigrant workers that are honest hard working and
productive. We should allow temporary
immigrants
to work here through a temporary
worker
program that will provide
employers
with
the labor they need on
a limited basis. These workers should then return to their
country of origin to their families.
Solutions
We
need a more common sense approach to dealing with costs and problems of
illegal immigration. The federal Government must fulfill its
responsibility on this issue, but in the meantime, we must all do what
we
can as well. I
support anti-illegal immigration laws at the state level that
discourage illegals from coming here including penalties and
deportation for those who are found to be in this State illegally.
